Category Officer

30749 - Category Officer

My client is looking for a Category Officer who will be responsible for all procurement activity related to any individual contract.

The successful Category Officer will deliver cost-reduction initiatives and will implement new products and services within the company.

Location: Horsham
Hours: Full time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000-£35,000

Key duties:

  • Source worldwide products and services

  • Manage all contracts including negotiating and drafting

  • Ensure reduction costs are managed and supported effectively

  • Liaise with stakeholders across the group to ensure implementation is agreed

  • Agree all targets and service level agreements

  • Support the Category Manager with the analysis of market research, spends, vendor reviews and key stakeholders

  • Ensure allocated suppliers are meeting quality standards, adhering to product specifications and are continuously driving improvement initiatives

  • Always work in accordance to company processes and policies

Key requirements:

  • Strong experience of working in Buying with a commercial role

  • Degree level educated or equivalent

  • CIPs accredited or working towards qualification

  • Strong analytical ability

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
