Your role will be to Identify, implement and control sourcing strategies and tactical buying methods to support commercial costing processes, obtaining best quality, cost, lead-time and delivery optimizations to create value for the business with the right suppliers.
Manage external Kanban programs.
Communicate forecasted requirements to external suppliers.
Evaluate and act upon the material requirements plan (MRP).
Communicate areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals and/or suppliers.
Inputs, maintains, and adjusts records or transactions to ensure system validity.
Develops and implements programs with suppliers and internal cross functional team members that address lead time reduction, order fill rate performance, quality performance, cost reduction, and technical improvements.
Interfaces with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, and Suppliers to resolve quality and/or delivery issues.
Resolve shipping discrepancies, invoice errors and coordinate adjustments on open shipment orders as necessary.
Maintains purchasing files
Drive continuous improvement in the supply base
Work to eliminate excess and obsolete parts, and rationalize similar parts.
Experience in a similar position.
Direct experience implementing lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc).
Lean/Six Sigma certification (black belt or green belt) and Sourcing Tollgate processes is desired.
Experience implementing kanban approach to component flow.
Experience with global suppliers desired.
Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions.
Includes a strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling software.
Knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics.
Certification in CIPS is highly desired or working towards
