Assistant Development Manager / Development Engineer - Light Rail construction - Midlands

Do you want to play a major part in one of the UKs largest and most ambitious light rail projects? McGinley Support Services are supporting partners within a major consortium delivering a 10 year program of works to extend the light rail system throughout the West Midlands.

The assistant development manager deliver the project to time, budget, and quality and safety standards, within prescribed project processes, managing the outputs of project consultants and contractors engaged to deliver the project.

You will have experience in working with rail or highways infrastructure projects in a local authority or consulting engineering capacity.

You will support in managing the key interfaces with the city council, affected borough councils and other stakeholders to ensure that all approvals are in place at the appropriate times and that wider support for the scheme remains.

You will provide project information to the technical, project management and administrative staff and consultants engaged on the delivery of projects.

Assist in the management and coordination of all contractual, technical, financial and legal inputs on the project with support of the wider consortium team.

Assist in the effective collaborative working with public and private sector partners.

Maintain knowledge of the projects including review of outcomes and feedback of lessons learnt.

Prepare and submit appropriate documentation to the Boards and Panels which ensure the progression of schemes.

Coordinate the provision of all relevant budget and programme information to each of the consortium members.

Assist in the preparation reports for senior management, elected members, committees, and Boards, as appropriate to project status.

Prepare and maintain relevant project, quality and risk plans, and monitor and control performance against each plan, providing reports to the Project Sponsor and Project Control Panel, as required.

You will assist in stakeholder liaison, coordinating Value Management and post project review exercises at relevant stages of the project lifecycle.
You will be degree qualified in an engineering or technical discipline with chartered or incorporated membership with experience in delivery of light rail or highways construction projects within cities or towns that have heightened levels of public awareness.
