Technical Trainer and Coordinator

My client in West London, close to Heathrow, is a very large global aviation company who specialise in supporting airlines in their overhaul of aerospace components.

They are now seeking a permanent Technical Trainer and Coordinator to analyse the technical and quality training requirements for all shop floor roles within this Part 145 Organisation and to ensure the fulfillment of the training and the personal log books for these roles.


Key responsibilities:

  • Review and identify the knowledge requirements stipulated in Part 66 (Module 6 Materials & Hardware and Module 7 Maintenance Practices) for component maintenance personnel, , to define the knowledge levels required for the various company personnel authorisations and associated training demands;
  • Work with managers and quality to define training content/programmes to fit the examination (stamp) requirements
  • To use module template & develop requirements that can be used to monitor training of individuals
  • To have basic and reference modules that verify the individuals' skills and can allow flexibility
  • To review and modify the training program so that it is compliant with relevant authorities
  • Ability to deliver the training modules in a class room environment to a high standard
  • To be supportive to the staff and the managers through the development program
  • You may be required to train personnel within a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience
  • To work with the Human Resources and the Quality Manager to ensure training aligns with competence requirements.
  • To ensure all elements of Health & Safety are encompassed into training where required.
  • Maintain training records within HRM for colleagues.


Ideal candidate profile:

  • Good landing gear and component overhaul experience
  • Completed an aircraft engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent) with 2 years' experience in landing gear overhaul (preferred) or component / aircraft maintenance
  • Good knowledge of Part 145
  • Basic knowledge of a Part 66-based personnel authorisation system;
  • To have experience of products and processes
  • Computer literate
  • A good understanding of the processes and flow of work through the facility.
  • Able to define a project plan
  • An understanding of SAP
  • Able to work on own and be self-driven
  • Able to interact with colleagues throughout the business
  • Good communication skills, organised and methodical
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil technical information for both a technical and non-technical audience
  • Methodical and extremely organised, with ability to work under pressure with tight time scales
  • An approachable team player, who proven to work in a matrix environment
  • Results orientated and a 'complete finisher', being hands on, requiring candidate to think for themselves and use their own initiative


Additional information:

  • Permanent role
  • Monday to Friday, day shift
  • Salary: Up to £30,000 plus airline benefits package
