Help Develop Practice and Support Social Workers


A London based Local Authority is looking to take on an Assistant Team Manager to provide more direct support to Social Workers in their Safeguarding Service.

This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with Social Workers who are going on visits and carrying cases to provide support and guidance.

As well as providing support to Social Workers you will also have the opportunity to provide operational management and deputise for the Team Manger.

Teams are generally small and you will be managing a group of 4 - 5 Social Workers meaning you will have to do around 1 supervision session per week to cover all staff, effectively giving you more time to work with Social Workers who require more support and development.

You will also have the opportunity to work with Social Workers from an international background.


The Local Authority has also received a Good Ofsted rating following its last inspection, they have also managed to secure a largely permanent workforce which is more stable than it has been in the last year.

This is expected to improve further as we are supporting the Authority with its campaign to consolidate a permanent workforce.


To be considered for this post you should have extensive experience at Senior/Advanced Practitioner level.

Those candidates who are already managing Social Workers are also sought after.
