Product Manager - Analytics


Business Requirements Gathering:

  • Work with practice area teams who have identified market opportunities to support development of a product business case according to set standards and to evaluate and recommend options for operating models based on an understanding of use cases, the competitive landscape, and technology trends

  • Work with multiple stakeholders to prioritize requirements and align teams around minimum viable product via primary user research and workshops

  • Facilitate client feedback capture via multiple channels and methods to inform multi-year product roadmaps

  • Collaborate with the product sponsors and third-party vendors to find best solutions that can be delivered in time and cost sensitive manner

Product Marketing and Communications:

  • Work with practice areas to articulate commercialization plans and support internal business development and as-needed efforts to "sell to" clients

  • Evangelize product internally and externally

  • Drive marketing collateral creation needed for product promotion and business development

  • Work with practice area product owners to establish support model and channels for practice area products

  • Train service desk, client service teams and/or knowledge team owners as appropriate

  • Provide input and support cross-functional initiatives (e.g., product marketing and sales, technical field enablement, support, etc.)

  • Share best practices of practice area products to support continuous improvement

  • May provide some direct support depending on the product and SLA agreement

  • May be asked to support multiple products at different stages of lifecycle

Product Development Technical Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the product sponsor and engineering team members to create business requirement documentation, including scope definition and statement of work

  • Partner with software engineering team to evaluate new technology and systems to fulfil business needs, make build/buy trade-offs, etc.

  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to translate and develop underlying mathematical models and algorithms

  • Instruct and direct the development team on functional, non-technical requirements, formulating and defining system scope, integration requirements, and objectives based on user‐defined needs

  • Work with vendor(s) and manage these relationships for development and marketing of products along with the technical teams

  • Manage stakeholders' expectations while building credibility with senior stakeholders through a strong business sense

  • Support delivery and launch of new products

Ongoing Delivery and Support Management:

  • Develop and implement product launch plans to rollout product to technical and nontechnical service delivery team in collaboration with the product sponsor

  • Own quality and ongoing management of product support materials - e.g.

    technical "how-to's", digital properties, marketing content, etc.

  • Capture user feedback across all product channels

  • Provide first‐class training, assistance, and support to service delivery team

  • Facilitate PDT effectiveness and further development and own the product roadmap

  • Prioritize ideas and opportunities to enhance products and maintain product roadmaps/investment cases

  • Expand reach and effectiveness of existing products including making recommendations for new execution and support models as well as technological improvements


  • Undergraduate degree with high academic achievement required, advanced degree preferred

  • Econometrics, statistics, or mathematical modelling in education or work experience preferred

  • 3-7 years of relevant experience; product management or business development for a software or subscription-based data product business

  • Certification or commensurate prior experience in working with agile software development methodologies and teams

  • Consulting or other professional service experience preferred

  • Some travel may be required (less than 30%)

  • Strong expertise in mathematical modelling, econometrics, or statistical analysis

  • Superior analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.

    A problem solver who can make smart simplifying assumptions

  • Conversant with relevant technologies.

    Strong awareness of technology trends and their potential influence
