An excellent opportunity has arisen within an international and independent Building Services engineering consultancy.

Our client has been established for nearly 40 years and are an award-winning business with one of the most highly regarded reputations in the industry.

They provide services throughout the UK and the Middle East with projects in all sectors of the construction market.

An opportunity exists in our London office for a self-motivated team player to work within our expanding Fire Engineering Group.

The successful candidate will have experience providing fire safety advice on fires safety legislative compliance and design requirements to clients and professional design teams for individual buildings.

Projects will range from complex high value innovative schemes for new developments, fit-outs and refurbishments through to minor schemes.

The Individual
You will be an enthusiastic individual with a relevant engineering degree, ideally fire Engineering, have a real interest in Fire Engineering design analysis for the built environment, and crucially-have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

Membership of the IFE would be advantageous.

You will have 2+ years professional experience working within a fire engineering / consultancy environment
Including experience of preparing fire strategy reports and fire engineering solutions, of carrying out fire risk assessments and construction works processes as well as business development.

You will also have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, be able to manage your own time to meet deadlines and have an appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.

A good understanding of passive fire protection methods and smoke control systems with a basic knowledge of fire and suppression systems is essential, experience creating and reporting on computational Fluid Dynamic fire models would be advantageous.

You will also have a knowledge of fire engineering tools such as TWO-Zone Modelling and / or Fast-Lite, have the ability to view, print and mark up drawings using CAD, and be familiar with MS Office.

You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and will be supported towards chartership.
