DISCLOSURE ACCOUNTANT ASSOCIATE

Job description:


Core-Asset Consulting's client, a leading global financial services firm, are looking for a Disclosure Accountant Associate to join their team in Glasgow for an initial contract of 12 months.



Core requirements:



  • Public Accounting/Audit experience and ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification is required

  • Financial reporting and financial services/product knowledge highly desirable

  • Appreciation of escalation and risk awareness

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • A confident well-rounded methodical person with strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential

  • Inquisitive in nature, ability to challenge issues and processes

  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving abilities



Core responsibilities:



  • Preparing Firm US GAAP, local IFRS financial reporting and related Regulator disclosures which may include tasks concerning footnotes for Fair value measurement, Derivatives, Collateral, Off balance sheet commitments and guarantees and Structured Entities

  • Monitoring your progress against disclosure production timetables

  • Liaise with Global Product Controllers to gather transaction detail for disclosures prepared by GDSC and commentary for material movements

  • Respond to review questions raised on disclosures prepared

  • Communicate and escalate to line management as appropriate

  • Produce and present disclosures and analytics to members of Finance Senior Management

  • Maintain and enhance written procedures documents, ensuring key controls are in place

  • Represent the organization with external parties including external auditors
