JS133 – Project Manager (Engineering)  

Location:  Bedfordshire

Salary:  £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits 

Overview: 

First Military Recruitment are currently working with an established and expanding business based in Bedfordshire who are currently recruiting for an experienced and commercial astute Project Manager.

This is a varied and commercially challenging role that would suit a dynamic, forward thinking and technically bias Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure delivery of critical programs to planned schedules. 
  • Maintenance of detailed project plans.
  • Negotiation of realistic task timelines with stakeholders.
  • Manage all stakeholders to ensure awareness of responsibility and accountability for delivery of project tasks to specified timelines.
  • Early identification of potential risks to project programs and development of mitigation strategies.
  • Provide detailed costings for project proposals.
  • Development and delivery of justification for capital spend, supporting project objectives.
  • Budgetary control of project spends.
  • Ensure all quality and change control requirements associated with critical semiconductor projects are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and effective communication with project team and external stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Demonstrate management of successful delivery of multi £M projects. 
  • Superior knowledge of project management tools such as MSP, Prince Excel.
  • Demonstrates strong people management skills.
  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Passionate about meeting tight deadlines.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing ideally fabrication environment is highly desirable.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in technical, scientific or mathematical discipline.
  • Previous experience of working in a global manufacturing industry. 
  • Experience successfully delivering multi £M projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation skills. 
  • Confident and inspiring management style. 
  • Experience of developing high performing teams. 
  • Ability to mentor, encourage and support, individual contributors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. 
  • Effective decision maker. 
  • Flexible and able to deliver pragmatic solutions without compromising quality, safety and delivery. 
  • Ability to influence and drive behaviour. 
  • Computer literate – competent and knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications (Specifically Project &/or Prince2).
  • Ability to creation of project justifications.
