Medway council is looking for a passionate and dedicated Recruitment Fostering Social Worker to join their team.

Your responsibilities as a Recruitment Fostering Social Worker



  • To assess, plan, and use evidence based analytical practice to assess prospective foster carers

  • To contribute to the recruitment of foster carers, including initial visits, information sessions and Skills to Foster courses

  • To work to a structured time management practice; submitting reports, assessments and plans within regulated timescales

  • To maintain accurate written and computerised records, in accordance with agreed procedures and in order to meet legislative responsibilities.

  • To co-ordinate, and take a lead role in multi-professional/ agency groups and other professional meetings


What's required



  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with 2 years' experience

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • A valid HCPC registration

  • A clear, enhanced DBS

  • Experience in assessing and recruiting foster carers, completing Form F assessments and taking prospective carers to Fostering Panel

  • Demonstrable experience of working within the framework of the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations 2010, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards and other relevant legislation, Statutory guidance, Standards and Procedures
