Shift Maintenance Engineer Oxfordshire £17.50 per hour Ltd

As part of the UK commitment to safe, sustainable energy supply, McGinley support services are working with several of the UK main operators and contractors in both new build and decommissioning phases of nuclear energy production.

We currently have an opportunity for a shift engineer to operates on 3 shift system.
The shift engineer ensures that maximum throughput is achieved by ensuring that waste recovery and maintenance activities are planned and undertaken in the most efficient way and plant availability is maximised, providing professional technical, engineering and nuclear safety advice to enable the shift manager to make operational decisions as the Duly Authorised Person.

The shift engineer is required to have a full understanding of safety cases and facilitate continued operations.

The shift engineer is also responsible for the efficient planning of maintenance activities, control and use of equipment, spares and consumables to support production..
The role demands a special aptitude to understand the workings of complex nuclear plant and diagnose faults, establish root cause issues and make recommendations to others to prevent re-occurrence.

The shift engineer must direct the repair whilst liaising with the design and safety offices to progress the change control to enable the next stage of modifying and improving the plant.

All of this must be conducted in accordance with safety and commercial priorities.

The role has direct line management responsibility for two skilled craft staff who re electrical & mechanical.
Applications are welcomed from anyone in the process industries (pharmaceutical, water, chemical, petro-chemical) in addition to Nuclear.

In return you will have long term contract opportunity to work with an inclusive team on a rate of £17.50 per hour Ltd for a 40 hour week and the opportunity to work within an environment that has financial investment for many years to come.
