Locum Children in Care Social Worker

Kent Couny Council is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker to join their Children in Care team situated in Sittingbourne.

Whats on offer for a CIC Social Worker?



  • Up to £35 an hour (depending on experience), with weekly payments.

  • A dedicated CHA consultant to aid you through the interview and onboarding process

What are the responsibilities of a CIC Social Worker?



  • Managing a varied Children & Families caseload including assessment, review and preparation of welfare reports and court attendance

  • Initiate and develop close working partnerships with statutory agencies, voluntary and private sector agencies, carers and those with parental responsibility

  • Inform, advise, counsel and support clients and carers, individually and in group settings, to relieve stress and modify attitudes of behaviour to meet the needs of the client.


Requirements for a Locum Children in Care Social Worker?



  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of 2 years' experience.

  • A valid HCPC registration

  • Significant experience of working as a Qualified Social Worker within fostering or adoption teams

  • An understanding of the current legislation relevant to Child Social Care

  • A clear enhanced DBS
