Letter of Credit Specialist Temp to HIre


NY Branch of Foreign Bank seeking LC pro for Temp to Hire role.

Accurate and timely operational processing for Trade Finance products Export L/C's, Standby L/C's and Reimbursements.

Work closely with the business units and their clients to advise them of the Trade Finance products workflows and lifecycle.


Responsibilities:



  • Accurate and timely processing of all L/C's related transactions including:

    • Exam documents of Export L/Cs.

    • Effect payments of Export L/Cs.

    • Ensure that fees and commission on Standby Letters of Credit are computed accurately and collected on time.

    • Ensure that the issuance of SBLCs and amendments are within bank guidelines and with proper authority approvals.



  • Responsible for the maintenance of all SBLC and Export LC files.

  • Prepare reports (monthly, quarterly and yearly) such as Volume report, Income Report, Outstanding SBLC Balances for SBLC Customers, Activity Report, and Reciprocal Report.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for Traditional Letters of Credit.

  • Ensure that procedures, policies and regulations are documented, updated and implemented.

  • Ensure that audit requirements, both external and internal, are implemented.

  • Ensure that SBLCs/Guarantees and Export LCs issued are in strict compliance with regulations governing U.S.

    and local BSA/AML/CTF, OFAC, Anti-Boycott and other governmental regulations.

  • Meet with internal and external auditors as required and provide them with information and respond to their inquiries related to TF activities, procedures and reports.

  • Adhere to all pertinent laws and regulations governing AML/CTF including the BSA/USAPA as well as all bank policy and procedures governing same.

  • Successful and timely completion of all assigned training, including ISO, HR and BSA/AML/OFAC training.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • 5-7 years of L/C Documentary Credit Experience.

  • Business degree is desirable.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • PC skills including Word processing and Excel software.
