Sales Manager

  • Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Sales Manager looking for your next challenge? My client is looking for a Sales Manager to join their expanding team in the Chesterfield area.

The company

  • A market leader in the stockholding of high integrity metals, predominantly working within the Aerospace and Defence industry.

Experience Required

  • Looking for someone from the Aerospace industry, ideally from a stockist or aerospace material company.

  • Has to have experience managing global accounts.

  • Will be managing two good teams, UK and Exports.

    Will need to have good management skills, be able to delegate and make decisions off their own back and have good contract negotiation skills

  • Will be required to travel to 2 air shows every year - Paris and Farnborough - also have the odd travel to a customer / supplier (2 or 3 times a year)

  • The role will report directly into the Site Manager and be a part of the management team on the site.


  • Identify new clients who will benefit from the company's products or services and maximize client potential in designated regions

  • Develop long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements

  • Communicate concisely and effectively with customers and internal divisions alike to aid “seamless” service.

  • Listen carefully to customer requirements and build a responsive solution for offer.

  • Close sales by persuading clients that the offered solution (products and/or services) best satisfies their needs in term of quality, price and delivery;

  • Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs

  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after - sales support services;

  • Identify and attend appropriate trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;

  • Liaise with other members of the sales team, engineering, and production to ensure customer technical requirements are met and new products are developed to meet customer needs, or to generate new business

Candidates should be flexible, and have a willingness to work overtime, which will be a regular requirement of the role.

Salary is dependent upon the experience
