Assistant Team Manager - Adults Hospital - Sandwell - £30p/h

Sandwell Adult Social Care and Health is recruiting to 4 agency Social Care Lead Officer posts within the borough wide hospital/intermediate care service.

We are looking for experienced Social Work Assistant Team Managers.

The service aims to improve the outcomes of residents in Sandwell by; Enabling/facilitating timely discharges from hospital Monitoring and facilitating timely discharges from intermediate care provisions Offering alternatives to hospital admissions Supporting people to return to independent living.

7 day working.

The successful candidate will have extensive adult social care experience and be highly skilled and experienced in handling safeguarding procedures.

The role will involve supervising staff, therefore previous supervisory experience is highly desirable for the role.

As an Adult Hospital Senior Practitioner / ATM you will have experience of and be expected to:

  • The post holder will oversee, monitor and record operational activity to managers and care managers in Enfield to ensure that the Adult Social care policies are appropriately and consistently implemented.

  • The post holder will advise key agency staff regarding required operational activity in relation to Safeguarding Alerts, and monitor subsequent activity.

  • The post holder will support the Safeguarding Adults Inter-Agency Coordinator in implementing and monitoring policy and practice in the safeguarding of adults at risk on a multi-agency basis across the Hospital.

  • To provide advice and consultancy to managers, staff and colleagues in other agencies on the management of and decision making on cases involving the suspected abuse of vulnerable adults, promoting the multi-agency policy and procedures.

  • To chair of safeguarding adults strategy meetings and case conferences and reviews so as to achieve consistent and appropriate decisions.

  • To participate in safeguarding discussions held by operational care management staff to assist safeguarding planning.

  • To monitor the quality and consistency of decision-making and practice in safeguarding adults at risk.

  • To contribute to the training and briefings of Social Care and Health staff, voluntary and private sector staff in promoting best practice.

  • To assist Safeguarding Adults Inter-Agency Co-ordinator in advising the Safeguarding Adults Executive Committee and Board.

  • To reviewing Safeguarding Adults policy and practice in conjunction with the Safeguarding Adults Inter-Agency Co-ordinator.

  • To contribute, in conjunction with Senior Safeguarding Information Officer to implement and develop systems to monitor the handling of allegations and the outcomes of investigations, ensuring this system will also provide regular reports about the adult protection activity.

As a Adults Safeguarding Senior Practitioner you will be:

  • HCPC registered

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • A full UK license holder
