Overview: 

We are currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join our client's structural steel business.

The successful Structural Engineer will be responsible for production of code compliant structural steelwork solutions to meet client requirements on programme and within budget.

Predominantly servicing the Design & Build sector the candidate should have a sound understanding of Engineering principals and be able to work with the Client’s professional team and internal departments to produce practical design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Carry out structural analysis and design to produce calculations for Building Regulations submission;

·         Produce detailed design sketches to convey design intent to draughtsperson with due regard to buildability and health & safety;

·         Liaise with internal and external design team to ensure the design brief is clear and a compliant design is produced;

·         Assess, design and clearly define temporary works requirements;

·         In all activities, ensure compliance with the Company Operating Procedures, Company Quality Assurance Procedures, Statutory Safety Legislation, good practice and our contractual responsibilities;

·         Keep records as required to protect the company’s interest.

·         Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by your Immediate Manager.

·         Take responsibility for all technical aspects of a project and provide assistance and supervision to junior Engineers

Essential Knowledge and Experience: 

Professionally qualified Engineer
Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel structure related projects
Experience of producing structural steel design to British Standards and/or Eurocode
Sound knowledge of all commercial and Engineering aspects of Steel Construction Projects
Experience of Industry software including CSC Fastrak, Tekla Structural Designer, Masterframe, Tekla, AutoCad
 
Qualifications: 

Essential:

Member of Institute of Structural Engineers or similar Professional body or working towards the relevant membership (CEng MIStructE /MICE/Mechs)
 
Preferred:

Degree – 2:1 or above in Civil or Structural Engineering
