Location: Leeds

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 + Car allowance

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently searching for a Landscape Architect to join our client based in their Leeds office.


The main purpose of this position is to provide specialist technical support to the environmental team and to support in the delivery of high quality landscape architecture work within the group.



My client is a leading independent consultancy specialising in acquisition, planning, design, environment and economics.

Their services span the entire project process from site initiation through to planning, design and delivery, ensuring optimal results.



Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate proactivity and self-motivation in managing own time and workload, establishing priorities, working to deadlines and to budget. 
  • Support the senior members of the environment team.
  • Flexibility to assist other environmental teams where necessary, dependent on skills. 
  • To assist and support project delivery through undertaking landscape data trawls, site survey work, graphic presentation and technical reporting. 
  • Translate technical data and survey information into a written and graphic format which is clean and ensures understanding of the findings, implications or design. 

Skills and Qualifications:


  • A clear understanding of the UK planning system and development plans – preparation and hierarchy, knowledge of the relevant legislation that governs landscape architecture. 
  • Experience of working within the private sector. 
  • Degree/Masters in Landscape Architecture. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of landscape and visual assessment. 
  • Understanding of landscape planning policy context. 
  • Understanding of non-EIA and EIA landscape assessment methodologies. 
  • Understanding of landscape and townscape character assessments. 
  • Excellent writing and report formatting skills. 
  • Capable of preparing draft information to brief graphics technicians. 
  • Wide range of landscape design skills, from strategic landscape masterplanning through to detailed hard and soft landscape design. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of plant vocabulary and experience of producing detailed planting plans. 
  • Good understanding of landscape management and maintenance an advantage. 
  • Flourish working in a team environment, confident in sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues.
