Data Scientist to support product, sales, leadership and marketing teams with insights gained from analysing company data

The Role

Reporting to our Chief Data Scientist, we are looking for a full stack Data Scientist who will relish the challenge of tackling a variety of important questions encountered by a dynamic energy start-up with a unique business model.

You'll provide data products to marketing, service, industry operations and finance business areas, supporting their decision-making processes in growing, serving and retaining the customer membership base in the most effective manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • identify questions, issues and problems that need to be answered using obtainable data

  • acquiring data from internal and third party systems for analysis and model development

  • identifying, evaluating and adding relevant datasets to the data warehouse

  • producing distributable products in formats for presentations, dashboards, web and APIs

  • analysing and modelling in R and Python to answer questions using reproducible techniques

  • advising on data interfaces with third parties and implementing agreed data sharing protocols

The Person

You will be a Data Scientist with a flexible approach and the ability to multi-task including:

  • experience working in a data science or data engineering role

  • applied knowledge of R, Python, AWS, data warehouse and linux

  • adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process

  • experience using a variety of data mining / data analysis methods

  • using / creating algorithms and creating / running simulations

  • comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams

  • passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets

A passion for sustainability and the environment is desirable, but you'll soon be converted!
