UX/UI Lead

Currently working with a multi award winning media company, looking for a UX/UI Lead to look after a small team of designers.

Due to company growth and all the projects they have coming up they are going through a lot of hiring,the role sits within the in-house Digital Products team which is fully responsible for the strategy, design and creation of their apps and services across web, mobile and TV platforms.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

You will have excellent knowledge and experience of design and UX software, including:

● Industry standard design software such as Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator
● A wireframing and prototyping tool such as Balsamiq or Axure
● Task card and progress tracking systems such as Trello or Jira
In addition you will have experience of some or all of the following:
● Mobile app design across iOS and Android
● Design of interactive multi-state experiences across web, social or mobile
● Mobile first, adaptive and responsive design techniques
● Design of application interfaces for TV screens and be aware of design differences between ‘1ft', ‘3ft' and ‘10ft' screens
● Agile project management processes, including standups, working within sprints, planning and retrospectives

Key responsibilities

● Lead the creative design process of digital products in a hands-on fashion within the team, ensuring consistently high standards of design and creative rigour that conform to relevant platform and accessibility standards
● Lead the IA and UX process within the team, developing logical and consistent wireframes and user flow diagrams that can be translated into high quality digital products
● Champion digital design within the wider stakeholder group, providing strong, consistent creative direction and representing our brands in inspirational and exciting ways in digital spaces
● Ensure digital designs are aligned with existing network and channel identities, consistent with brand guidelines and integrated with on- and off-air marketing and press activity
● Conduct or participate in usability testing sessions and define actionable items to improve products based on qualitative and quantitative results
● Challenge and evolve product development.

Generate strong, innovative, creative ideas, develop and present design work from concept to execution and oversee design delivery to time, budget and brief
● Work within the established agile management processes of the team, that includes standups, showcases, retrospectives and sprint planning sessions
● Line manage the senior digital designer, providing guidance, stimulation and encouragement.

Be responsible for the ongoing professional development of the designer by identifying training and learning opportunities where appropriate
● Be responsible for the workload and quality of output of the design team
● Research different approaches to design and UX on new platforms such as set-top boxes (such as Freeview Play) and media streamers (such as Apple TV) as appropriate, and keep the team informed
● Work closely with the front and back-end teams to ensure designs are successfully translated into digital products during the production and testing processes
● Keep up to date with ongoing strategic and consumer research and how it affects the evolution of the digital strategy and the broader digital landscape
● Be a recognised point of contact within the company for digital design and raise the profile of the team's output amongst a wider stakeholder group
