HR Officer

Are you an experienced HR professional looking to take on an exciting new challenge? If so IrvinGQnow have a fantastic opportunity available for a HR Officer to join our team in Llangeinor.

This role is initially offered as a 6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The Ideal HR Officer:

The ideal HR Officer will have proven experience as a HR / Personnel Officer with a proven generalist background, with excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel and Data Base systems.

You will be proficient in managing time and attendance and HRIS systems - knowledge of "Mitrefinch" would be a distinct advantage.

You will also have a working knowledge of payroll and workplace pensions.

We also require you to have:



* Grad CIPD Qualified (or equivalent) or relevant experience


* Knowledge and effective application of employment legislation


* Working knowledge of GDPR


* Possess integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.


* Ability to offer credible advice and guidance in a wide range of generalist HR activities.


HR Officer Responsibilities:

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Officer will ensure the smooth daily operation of the HR function and support the HR requirements throughout the organisation.

Main areas of responsibility include:



* Recruitment - writing job advertisements, interviewing, drafting contracts, carrying out reference checks and DBS applications.


* Policies and Procedures - ensuring policies, letter templates and other documentation are up to date in accordance with internal policies and current legislation.


* Personnel File Management - maintain accurate and up to date employee information on both the HRIS system and paper files.


* Job Descriptions - ensure all job descriptions are reviewed on an annual basis.


* Occupational Health - to ensure the health and well- being of all employees is catered for, utilising Occupational Health providers effectively to maintain good attendance levels.


* Absence - maintain absence records and deal with absence issues (both long term and short term) in accordance with agreed absence procedures.


* Communication - to ensure good communication practices are in place.


* Data Protection and Security - support the HR Manager in ensuring strict observance of Data Protection regulations and security requirements, with security check applications submitted and completed in a timely manner.


* Audits - Carry out annual audits including Data Protection, Security and IT.
