Python Developer

We are looking for an experienced senior Python developer to join a software development team based in Central Birmingham.


You will be joining a new development team based in Central Birmingham.

Up to now all development has been completed by an offshore development team, however this is now being brought in house.

The right develop will be developing a mobile platform solution which provides market knowledge for media businesses.


Although this company is relatively new, this business does differ from traditional start-ups as they have a years of experience within this industry which has been made up with their senior management team.


The company are initially looking to build a team of 6 within the in house development team, but are aiming to triple in size by the end of 2019.


As this is a new development team you will need to be a self-starter with strong organisation skills and high attention to detail.

The core of this business is the application that they build, therefore they are looking for individuals that are driven by technology and keen to learn and work with emerging technologies.


Required Experience



  • At least 3 years commercial experience as an Python Developer

  • Experience with Python/Django

  • Experience with SQL technologies, model design and NoSQL and MongoDB

  • Commercial experience working in an agile environment.

  • Ability to work with third party data sources and APIs

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Passionate about technology

  • Self-starter with great organisational skills


Beneficial Experience



  • Experience with continuous Integration

  • Experience in working with a team of testers

  • Experience with Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Machine Learning, Graph Theory and Big Data analysis techniques


The company are looking to pay between £45-55k for the right candidate and offer a flexible working hours, a completive salary in a central Birmingham location.

Plus, pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, cycle to work and child care vouchers.
