Recruit Mint is currently working in partnership with UK's largest Food & Product services organization.

They are currently recruiting an Ethical Trade Manager to lead the continued development and implementation of effective ethical trade, human rights and modern slavery programs.

In particular delivering the strategic objective of targeted leadership in ethical, social and environmental sustainability in areas of greatest impact.

You will be based in Alconbury but will be required to travel to other locations across the UK and internationally, based on business needs.

Job Specification:

• Be the main point of contact and subject matter expert for ethical trading / human rights / modern slavery
• Assume responsibility for maintaining relevant sections of the Code of Conduct for ethical trade / responsible sourcing
• Design, develop and implement strategies to raise awareness and increase capability to deliver our ethical trade commitments across the businesses
• Develop and deliver relevant internal and supplier training
• Develop internal ethical trade policies and procedural documents
• Develop supplier-facing ethical trade policies and procedural documents
• Monitor suppliers' conformance to requirements on an ongoing basis and report as part of governance process
• Ensures all new supplying sites meet MM ethical trade requirements
• Monitor SEDEX self-assessment questionnaires (SAQ's) and follow up on any areas of non-conformance / concern
• Design and implement risk assessment methodologies to ensure a robust and straightforward approach to due diligence
• Review supplier social audits to determine the grading of ethical non-conformances
• Work with technical teams to follow up outstanding non-conformances with supplier and to make sure non-conformances are closed out within timescales specified
• Identify engagement opportunities aligned to priority areas, and facilitate relationships with relevant multi stakeholder initiatives, NGO's, trade associations, charities etc.

• Contribute to supplier development plans and provide assessments of supplier performance to the management team to inform buying strategies
• Lead on the businesses modern slavery program implementing systems to identify, mitigate and if found remedy
• instances of modern slavery within the UK and global supply chain
• Ensure culture and values remain in the forefront of all your activities, contributing to the ongoing development of the culture and values through sharing of ideas and new ways of working.

Person Specification:

• Strong knowledge of human rights, international labour standards and ethical trade and their application within complex business environments
• Experience in using data to provide insight (e.g.

SEDEX platform)
• Experience building and maintaining strong relationships internally, especially across buying teams and externally with suppliers, NGOs and multi stakeholder initiatives
