Salary range: £44,317 - £49,879 per annum (pro rata) + excellent benefits
Hours: 0.6 FTE

About Us
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration.

Individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.


This is an exciting time for the West Midlands - the Commonwealth Games will be here in 2022, the arrival of HS2 will help make us a world class business location and a new £350m housing deal aims to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.

The Public Service Reform portfolio is a key part of the WMCA agenda, enabling the development of a more inclusive growth culture, building the region's ability to support prevention, and supporting our partners to deliver better public services within a complex policy environment.


About the Role
This is an exciting role to drive the implementation of the Thrive at work programme across the West Midlands.

The programme is an innovative initiative which has seen 250 business sign up to the programme already with a reach of 103,000 employees.

The programme is led by a Consultant in Public Health and brings together the most up to date evidence base for businesses to support improved employee wellbeing.


The successful candidate will need to:-
, Promote business investment and growth by engaging and supporting businesses to invest in the health and wellbeing of their staff;
, Support businesses to identify solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees;
, Proactively work with businesses to re-focus their strategies to develop policies and practices that support employee wellbeing;
, Work with regional and national partners and local authorities to successfully strengthen and deliver the Thrive at Work mission.
, Be adept at working in complex environments in which collaboration, partnership working, political awareness and enabling others to thrive is a core skill set.

Demonstrate a commitment to improving the region's public services, and a passion for social change and better outcomes for communities.


, This role demands an excellent communicator and collaborator, with a proven track record of enabling public service change and promoting public policy goals, and a willingness to support public services across the region within a difficult policy environment.
