Quality Engineer

To be considered for this position we seek applicants that have an appreciation of Engineered products.

This position would particularly suite professionals from a Metallurgy background however we welcome applicants from heavy engineering disciplines.


Roles & Responsibilities
· Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials and components as per specification requirements including drawings.


· Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, pre and post sub contract and final inspection.


· Liaise with suppliers to ensure product quality is to standard.


· Collaborate with company's supplier's personnel to ensure they understand what standards are required.


· Initiate NCRs and Discrepancy Notes as required ensuring the information contained is as comprehensive and accurate as possible.


· Document and report inspection findings and results and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings.


· Input and perform trending of key inspection process metrics.


· Train employees in the inspection procedures.


· Perform first article inspections reports where necessary.


· Read and interpret specifications and part prints.


· Train staff in quality assurance / control techniques.


· Document information in various databases and other internal programs.


· Keep abreast of the latest inspection, quality technologies to ensure we are at the leading edge.


About you
· You will have good knowledge of Quality standards (i.e.

BS EN ISO 9001/BS EN 1090 Exc 2-4).


· You will be trained in lean manufacturing principles
· You will show a strong understanding of engineering, process & manufacturing
