About the team
The Data Insight Service is a data and research team consisting of tools, resources and capabilities provided by TfWM on behalf of the West Midlands Combined Authority and its seven Constituent Members (the West Midlands local authorities), all supported by commercial partners to supply additional services and consultancy.

The purpose of the Data Insight service is to advocate and support users in making evidence-based decisions and carrying out forecasting for future developments with readily accessible detailed data.

Any form of planning, strategy, modelling or scheme development should be carried out using sound evidence and analysis.

The data and analysis that this service offers allows users to accurately forecast and evidence their proposals.

Who we need
We need progressive thinking, dynamic individuals to join us, as we use data and evidence to shape our £7.3 billion transport programme.
Clear thinking and ability to join the dots across a broad range of programmes will be essential.

You will manage the improvement of data systems and solutions, initially across a range of Policy, Strategy & Innovation programmes including transport modelling, CAV, 5G mobility and the Commonwealth Games.

In addition, you will work closely with teams across the WMCA working closely with data owners and managers to ensure consistency and best value across our data platforms and systems.

An essential part of the role will be to establish, influence and maintain effective working relationships with all external and internal stakeholders including local authorities, HS2, Highways England, Network Rail, Midland Metro Alliance and Birmingham Airport.

You will hold a relevant qualification or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and/or have experience in designing data systems and workflows within a fast paced and complex environment.
