Housing Options Officer – Somerset

£16.00 per hour

Contract – Full Time

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Provide advice, information and assistance to applicants who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Help applicants to explore their housing options and find suitable accommodation that meets their needs.
  • To work with a range of partners and agencies to prevent and reduce homelessness in the community.
  • The role may include working and supporting specialist areas such as – Refugees, P2i (young people), Domestic Violence etc.
  • Role may require visiting applicants in their own homes, across a designated area, to provide advice.
  • Occasional evening and weekend working.

    Occasional on-call duty, working outside of normal working hours, to respond to emergencies
  • An enhanced DBS check is a requirement of the role
  • To be the first point of contact for customers with homelessness or housing register enquiries.
  • Provide advice, information and assistance all applicants with a housing issue and triage applicants that may be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • To ensure the efficient functioning of the housing register and Homelessness service through a range of administrative, financial and organisational tasks.
  • Current driving licence and access to own vehicle, to visit clients in their own homes.
  • Hybrid working
