Behaviour Mentor

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience working with children across Key Stages 1 to 5? We're seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team!

The Role:


As a Behaviour Mentor specializing in SEMH, you will play a crucial role in supporting students across Key Stages 1 to 5 who require additional assistance with their social, emotional, and mental health development.

Your primary responsibilities will include:



  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs

  • Implementing behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and emotional regulation

  • Building strong relationships with students, providing mentorship and guidance

  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop personalized support plans

  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing feedback and reports as required

  • Participating in staff training and professional development activities related to SEMH support


Qualifications and Experience:



  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting

  • Relevant qualifications or training in behavior management, counseling, or related fields

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and stakeholders

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting the social and emotional development of students

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and respond to challenging situations
