Holiday : 33 days holiday


Shifts : Mon - Friday 8am - 4:30pm


On call : 1 week in 3 with 24 hour flexibility required (£20 per day on call rota)

We are a UK leading specialist galvanising manufacturer operating in 9 locations across the UK with a workforce of over 600 people.

Due to expansion, we are looking for a Shift Manager to support the day-to-day function of the production floor.



As a Maintenance Engineer you will play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining heavy plant equipment, including large cranes, motors, and inverter drives on a metal finishing site.



Job Responsibilities:




  • Perform preventive maintenance on cranes, motors, and inverter drives to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.

  • Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective repairs to minimize production interruptions.

  • Collaborate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities in coordination with production schedules.

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.



Qualifications:




  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial setting, with a focus on cranes, motors, and inverter drives.

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • 17th edition

  • Familiarity with PLC systems and control panels.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to work night shifts on a regular basis.
