SEMH Behaviour Mentor



We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Behaviour Mentor to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing support and guidance to students who require assistance with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

As an SEMH Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters positive behaviour and academic success.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

  • Develop and implement personalized behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers and other support staff.

  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effectiveness.

  • Act as a liaison between students, teachers, and parents/guardians to facilitate communication and support.

  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation within the classroom and school community.

  • Collaborate with outside agencies and professionals to access additional support services for students as needed.

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training workshops related to behaviour management and mental health support.


Qualifications:



  • Previous experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, preferably in an educational setting.

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of students facing behavioural and emotional challenges.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and best practices related to special education and student support services.
