Engineering Technician - Hertfordshire


This small, experienced, and professional building surveying and investigation consultancy, are looking for hard working, motivated individuals to join their team.

The Job Role



  • Primarily site-based, but also office-based/working from home

  • Working in a small, dedicated team of qualified, hard-working individuals

  • Predominantly working in and around London, but opportunities to work nationwide (includes staying away - expenses paid)

  • Testing, sampling and locally removing concrete and construction materials

  • Possibility of working at height and within confined spaces

  • Opportunities for further education and career progression within the industry

  • Weekend working (overtime paid) and occasional unsociable hours (evenings/nights)

  • Sent on courses such as, CSCS, PASMA, IPAF etc.


Responsibilities


The responsibilities of an Engineering Technician will comprise the following:



  • Working with engineers in performing routine testing, inspections and surveying of structures

  • Working in a range of locations (construction sites, offices etc.)

  • Maintaining testing equipment and tools

  • Documenting results, reports, method statements and risk assessments

  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of equipment and materials on site

  • Transporting materials and equipment to and from job sites

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of job sites


Requirements


The requirements of an Engineering Technician are as follows:



  • Experience working on construction sites is not essential, but is preferred

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to develop

  • Good maths/science and/or physical/practical skills

  • Good organisational skills

  • Reliable and hard working

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Valid UK driver's license

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
