Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Role Overview:


Reporting To the Electrical Systems Manager you will support in the design and development of electrical systems including controls, variable speed motors, cable selection etc.


Most machine orders are bespoke, but often 60% of the electrical System is repeatable from stock designs, with 40% being specified for the exact machine applications.


You will collaborate on engineering projects with customers and internal teams.

Test, diagnose, and rectify faults through design changes.

Ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

Create high-quality specifications and documentation.

Assist with system commissioning in the UK and internationally (80% of the role is UK, office based).


Requirements:



  • NVQ 5 minimum/degree in relevant engineering discipline.

  • 2+ years of Electrical CAD experience around hardware.

    Solidworks Electrical preferred but AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN can be considered.

  • Exposure or an understanding of control system design and development.

  • Some knowledge of machine systems design, safety systems, and industrial standards.

  • Some knowledge of industrial communication protocols, wiring, sensors, and cable selection.

  • Familiarity with P&ID diagrams, power sources, and electrical compliance.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Willingness to travel internationally.
