Are you an experienced, dedicated SEN teaching assistant looking for a new role? If so, we want to hear from you.


Teach Plus are currently working with a mainstream primary school in Hayes where pupils feel independent and supported within their learning.


In July 2022 they had received a good Ofsted report, where all leaders and staff are accomplished with different skills and passions.

All staff are highly motivated and demonstrate great teamwork.


The curriculum they use helps pupils understand how to stay physically and emotionally safe, within the diverse society in which they live.

They are genuinely interested in the views of others and talk about their feelings freely.


As an SEN teaching assistant you will need to be supporting pupils across KS1 with pupils with ASD and SEMH.

You will provide one to one assistance to pupils who need extra help, supporting with classroom activities and create a positive learning environment which pupils feel safe and ready to learn.


As an SEN teaching assistant, you will need to be compassionate and dedicated to pupils learning.

You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and have strong behaviour management skills.



As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be required to:



  • Support pupils within reception

  • Strong behaviour management

  • Understand and follow EHCP plans

  • Be passionate to support pupils to achieve to their full potential

  • Support on a one to one basis or within small groups

  • Attend staff meetings to improve skills and knowledge

  • Creating resources needed for lessons

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure




The ideal candidate for the SEN Teaching Assistant role will have:



  • Must have 2 or more years of experience supporting with SEN - ASD

  • DBS on the update service - (Must be child workforce)

  • Manual handling trained

  • PECS and Makaton trained

  • Experience within SEN schools

  • Phonics trained - read write inc, Jolly Phonics or letters and sounds.
