Scenic Project Manager

JOB TITLE: Scenic Project Manager


LOCATION: Manchester


Some at-home working and travel to event site locations may be required.


JOB TYPE: Permanent, full time



PRIMARY ROLE


As part of their ongoing expansion, they are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic Scenic Project Manager to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, a strong leader, and have diverse experience in scenic design with a solid understanding of live event production technologies.

This role is perfect for a set builder looking to advance their career or an existing project manager seeking to progress.

The successful applicant will excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and thrive under pressure.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • The ability to work as part of a team within our projects department, supporting our technical project managers or directly with our clients overseeing scenic projects from the initial enquiry to completion of the event.

  • Supporting the business to maintain and develop key client relationships.

  • Attending and chairing client meetings and site visits

  • Taking clear and detailed briefs and advising clients on appropriate solutions for their event.

  • Developing creative ideas and designs for client events including preparation of CAD drawings

  • Specification of suitable materials / finishes and creation of quotations including budget management

  • Updating booking software with event progress and milestones

  • Booking and management of set & stage crew

  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety

  • On site work at venues across the UK and occasionally internationally

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities to help grow our scenic department

  • Assistance of other departments and other duties to meet the needs of the business


QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES OF THE CANDIDATE



  • At least 5 year's experience in the professional live events industry with a specialism in set and stage

  • Competent user of CAD software packages

  • Have an excellent understanding of event production and the effective communication skills to explain solutions to clients in a clear and jargon-free manner.

  • Have an enthusiasm for developing creative designs and ideas to exceed client's expectations.

  • The successful candidate must have a curiosity to learn, whilst displaying resilience and a can-do attitude

  • Have a polished and professional manner, projecting confidence and enthusiasm to clients.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be prepared to react quickly to tasks in an efficient way.

  • Be highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, ensuring multiple projects are moving toward their deadline.

  • Ability to lead by example and work as part of a team.

  • Have a customer focused yet commercial mindset.

  • Keen eye for detail and high standards of presentation

  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport


TRAINING & PROGRESSION


On-going training will be provided as the job role requires.

WORKING HOURS


Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours.

Typically, your working day would be 08:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday, though we operate a flexible start time for staff where needed.

Work outside of these hours and at weekends will be required as our workload / projects require.

We try hard to manage a work/life balance for our team.


HOLIDAYS



  • 28 days per year

  • After 3 years continuous service you will receive your birthday off (day off can be taken within 7 days of your birthday)

  • After 5 years continuous service you will receive a further day's holiday
