Downstream Process Team Leader

We are currently looking for a Downstream Process Team Leader to join a leading research company.

As the Downstream Process Team Leader you will be responsible for the leading a technical group and providing expertise to support purification strategies for biopharmaceuticals such as proteins, nucleic-acid based products expressed in mammalian, viral vectors, and , bacterial, insect, yeast cells and/ or cell-free systems.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Downstream Process Team Leader will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.

You will line manage a small team acting as the Technical Lead in projects to deliver experimentation to develop and optimise purification processes for proteins, viral vectors, cell-free systems and other biopharmaceuticals.

2.

You will work collaboratively with research teams as well as external stakeholders, customers, and research organisations to identify opportunities for future projects and developments.

3.

You will act as a key partner to Bid Development teams to develop a programme of works and direct customer engagement, and present technical solutions to a range of stakeholders.

4.

You will take a lead role in coaching, developing, and up-skilling team, and keeping self and team updated with external developments in areas of specialism and legislative related changes.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Downstream Process Team Leader we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1.

Relevant degree in a relevant life sciences discipline

2.

Proven industry experience in a leadership role in downstream processing.



3.

A working knowledge and practical experience with working to GMP standards for the production of biopharmaceuticals (proteins, nucleic-acid based products expressed in mammalian, viral vectors, and , bacterial, insect, yeast cells and/ or cell-free systems)
