Associate Counsel

JOB DESCRIPTION



The Associate Counsel will provide legal advice to company personnel so they can achieve business goals while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.

The position works with other company lawyers and business personnel to handle the day-to-day legal matters for the business units within the PCG Group, including drafting, analysis and negotiation of commercial contracts and advising on employment and labor related matters.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Prepare, review, and negotiate all types of contracts on behalf of the business units, including non-disclosure agreements, toll manufacturing or private label arrangements, buy and sell supply agreements, equipment leases, non-compete agreements, consulting/independent contractor agreements, distribution agreements, SAAS/software agreements, license agreements, warranties, terms and conditions of sale/purchase, real property transactions/leases, and other contracts in support of business strategies and obligations.


  • Provide advice and guidance to business personnel on day-to-day legal claims and issues.

  • Advise on global employment and labor matters, including employee relations, terminations, compliance, background screenings, immigration, recruiting, compensation, and other related matters.


Minimum Qualifications



  • J.D.

    from an ABA accredited law school.

  • Admission to, and good standing with, at least one US state bar (or DC).

  • 3-5 years' experience as a practicing attorney.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to interact with both internal and external professionals of all types of backgrounds.

  • Experience in drafting, revising, analyzing and negotiating commercial agreements.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations including wage and hour laws, Equal Employment Opportunity laws, Family and Medical Leave Act, background check laws, benefit laws, and other federal, state, and local laws.

  • Familiarity with Oracle HRIS systems is preferred but not required.

  • Superior business acumen with an unrivaled commitment and deep-seated need to provide responsive client service to our teams and get things done; approaches responsibilities with a business friendly and pragmatic mindset while maintaining a commensurate balance of legal risk.


  • Ability to change gear quickly and provide service to a wide range of different needs, business models, and personality types.

  • Purposeful, results-focused, with well-developed prioritization skills.

  • Some travel (domestic and international) is required.
