Machine Shop Supervisor Responsibilities

As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you will be integral to the smooth running of our internal manufacturing operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Supervising and providing expert guidance to the manufacturing team to ensure a seamless workflow, particularly in the area of CNC Machining.
- Estimating production times and costs for a wide range of components produced within our machine shop, leveraging your experience in CNC Machining.
- Using the Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system to manage production schedules, machine shop loading, and inspection capacities to meet strict deadlines.
- Planning and coordinating machine shop activities, including scheduling around staff holidays and absences.
- Ensuring that all necessary raw materials, tooling, and consumables are available to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Organising and scheduling machine maintenance and annual servicing, with a focus on CNC Machining equipment.
- Providing continuous training and support to the production team, with a particular emphasis on upskilling in CNC Machining techniques.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment, setting an example for others as the Machine Shop Supervisor.
- Supporting the recruitment process by assessing candidates' abilities in CNC Machining and other relevant skills.
- Facilitating continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop, ensuring that all processes and procedures are optimised.
