My well-established client in the private healthcare sector is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team with 3 direct reports.

As the Engineering Manager, your role will be to maintain the building services, building fabric and all equipment in a cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with all current national legislation.

To maintain a safe environment for all staff, patients and visitors.

You will undertake maintenance/testing of plant/equipment, ensuring compliance.

This role is commutable from Woodley, Winnersh, Wokingham, Theale, Henley-on-Thames, Bracknell and Newbury.
 
The Role of Engineering Manager:

- To ensure timely planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and equipment servicing programmes are in place with all routine checks and replacements.

Lead on the service, test, diagnose and repair, where practical, mechanical, and electrical installations, plant and equipment. 
- To ensure an accurate and consistent standard of recording test results as set out in current hospital standards and legislation. 
- To lead the emergency maintenance team outside normal working hours by organising weekend cover for essential maintenance and contractor supervision.

In addition, you will be expected to provide call-out cover for each site on a rota basis. 
- To ensure robust site-level project management on any relevant projects 
- To continuously improve oneself and to attend training events and meetings to acquire the knowledge and skills that have been identified as beneficial to you and the site hospitals. 
- To carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the lead post. 
- To be visible and accessible to all healthcare colleagues across all disciplines as a specialist engineering resource

The Candidate:

- A minimum of 3 years experience in building services management, with ideally 1 year in healthcare
- Previous experience in managing and planning workloads for a minimum of 3 people
- Experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and all fire alarm/ emergency lighting, maintenance and testing in line with current legislative requirements
- Holds a HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training/experience
- Full clean driving licence
- Full clean DBS

Package and Benefits:

- Salary £50,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience
- Day shifts Monday-Friday 37.5 per week: variable between 7:30am - 6pm + On-call as a required (At full establishment on a 1 in 3 basis)
- Overtime 2x rate
- Oncall – £10 per day
- Oncall worked – Same as overtime rate
