Lead Electronics Test Engineer

As a Lead Test Engineer, you will lead the testing of Power Feeding products that provides high-voltage electrical power to undersea communication cable systems, with an emphasis on high availability.

You will exposed to, and trained on, the qualification activities to ensure that it meets the necessary standards for safety and functional/system compliance.

You will confirm that the product operates according to its feature descriptions and system design specifications.


Responsibilities:



  • Lead validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system-level testing.

  • Organize and oversee internal and external qualifications of the product, such as EMI/EMC, Environmental, and Safety.

  • Provide support and oversee the work of 1-2 engineers or subcontractors.

  • Drive collective decisions in verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, safety, and durability.

    Define and plan required test setups.

  • Plan and manage Capex for test equipment and setups in the R&D Lab.

  • Manage the flow down of product and system requirements and specifications to the test strategy.

  • Create test and validation strategies, test plans, perform tests, and generate reports and issues analysis for new products before launch and for ongoing products as requested by different departments and projects.

  • Develop test concepts from planning to commissioning new products, rigs, and jigs, as well as software/firmware related for various test purposes, including simulation and test automation.

  • Estimate projects, tasks, and targets in alignment with yearly departmental quality goals.


Experience and Qualifications:



  • Degree/HND/HNC in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.

  • Proven experience in software, hardware, and system testing on electronic products and product qualification.

  • Experience in test development, process management, and implementation.

  • Experience in planning test setups, lab instruments, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong fault diagnostics skills, including fault identification and reporting with tools like JIRA.

  • High standard of organization, communication, and technical report writing.


Additional Experience Preferred:



  • Test automation experience.

  • Experience with high-voltage testing processes.

  • Familiarity with standards such as IEC 62368, ETS 300 386, EN61000-4, EN55022.

  • Experience working with external regulatory agencies such as UL and TUV.

  • Proficiency with test management tools.
