Senior Estimator

A steel fabrication company in Derbyshire is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Important Details:

• Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per year (DOE)


• Location: Derbyshire


• Reporting to: Sales Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimating and Take-offs: Conduct steel take-offs, measure and qualify materials based on engineering and architectural drawings.


• Cost Development: Prepare detailed quotations and pricing schedules aligned with company protocols.


• Budget and Contract Support: Establish budgets for Commercial, Procurement, and Project Teams and review client contract documentation.


• Handover Documentation: Assist in preparing documentation for handover to the Commercial and Project Teams.


• Process Improvement: Maintain and enhance estimating techniques and processes.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of technical drawings, construction methods, and engineering principles within metalwork or structural steelwork.


• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective coordination with clients, engineers, and suppliers.


• Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office; specific training on bespoke software will be provided.
