Deputy Manager Supported Accommodation

Manager – Young People’s Supported Accommodation

Employer: ROC Solid Supported Accommodation

Reports To: Registered Manager

Location: ROC Solid Supported Accommodation Project

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (working flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays; sleep-in allowance included)

Objective: As a Young People’s Supported Accommodation Manager, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of young residents aged 16-18 by overseeing support services that promote independent living skills in a safe and supportive environment.

You’ll collaborate with referring agencies to ensure coordinated support and advocate for high-quality living conditions.

Essential and Desirable Requirements:

· QCF Level 3 (or equivalent) in Care

· NVQ Level 5 in Care and RMA

· 3 years’ experience at a supervisory/management level

· 3 years’ experience of working with young people and children

Key Responsibilities:

Service Management:


  • Ensure adherence to Ofsted Supported Accommodation regulations for 16-18-year-olds, aiming to foster skills for independence.
  • Supervise and support the team, conducting monthly check-ins, annual appraisals, and identifying training needs.
  • Schedule and manage staff rotas, ensuring compliance with all ROC Solid policies and regulatory guidelines.

Resident Support:


  • Facilitate new resident admissions, coordinate individualised support plans, and lead discharge processes.
  • Support residents with practical and emotional assistance to encourage life skills, personal growth, and decision-making for their future.
  • Coordinate keyworker roles within the team for assigned residents, ensuring responsive support and effective liaison with external services.
  • Handle resident behaviour supportively and constructively, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.

Housing & Quality Management:


  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment, supporting residents in their responsibilities.
  • Ensure rent collection and adherence to tenancy agreements, assisting with welfare benefits where needed.
  • Conduct regular property checks and minor repairs, coordinating with landlords and contractors for further maintenance.
  • Address resident disputes and complaints in line with ROC Solid’s procedures.

Administration & Reporting:


  • Keep accurate records, including logs, incident books, and resident files.
  • Report repairs promptly and maintain regular health and safety checks, including fire drills and risk assessments.
  • Submit performance reports to the Registered Manager and Directors as required.

Training & Development:


  • Participate in staff meetings, ensure staff training, and promote ROC Solid’s commitment to equal opportunities and data protection compliance.

Essential Qualities: This role requires strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to safeguarding young people’s welfare.
