Position Details

As a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:
✅ Assess, manage, and provide psychiatric care for forensic patients in inpatient, custodial, and community settings.
✅ Participate in an on-call roster and provide consultation for crisis situations.
✅ Fulfill statutory requirements under the Northern Territory Mental Health and Related Services Act.
✅ Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) training program.
✅ Maintain high clinical standards in line with national guidelines and ethical frameworks.

📌 Full-time, ongoing position
💰 Salary: AUD $213,380 - $261,100 per annum

Requirements

Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, with eligibility for Fellowship of RANZCP or equivalent.
Essential Skills & Experience:



  • Experience in forensic psychiatry (desirable).

  • Strong leadership, supervision, and teaching abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and interact with diverse populations.

  • Current AHPRA registration, NT driver's license (or ability to obtain), and compliance with immunisation requirements.
