
Paramedic
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Paramedics to join the Ambulance Service on the beautiful island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
The Service responds to 999 calls on a Category One to Four basis and includes both the emergency ambulance service and non-emergency patient transfer service and a major incident response for the islands.
There are four teams island-wide with 7-8 staff on duty at any time covering a 24/7 period.
The teams comprise; a Duty Officer, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Emergency Care Assistants – all qualified to UK NHS standards.
These teams are also supported by a range of volunteers including Community First Responders.
Note – A financial relocation package of up to £10,000 is offered to support your move, but please note there is no staff accommodation available with this role.
In addition, together with a qualified voluntary crew of local mariners, the marine ambulance enables the commencement of life-saving and stabilising treatment for patients in the other islands and vessels in local waters.
The craft is the marine equivalent of an accident and emergency ambulance and is fully equipped with a range of life-saving and medical equipment.
The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000.
It has some of Britain’s finest and best-kept beaches, an especially mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbour town in St.
Peter’s Port, the island’s capital.
The service provides excellent care, supported by modern equipment and reliant on Healthcare professionals recruited to a high standard.
Person requirements:
Qualified Paramedic with full HCPC registration
At least one year post-registration experience
Full manual driving licence held for at least 12 months and be in possession of a category D1 or C1 licence
