Aqumen Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established manufacturing business in Telford.

We are a small, close-knit operation with six conveying ovens and a range of secondary equipment, and we are now looking for a mechanically biased Maintenance & Engineering Technician to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys variety – from preventive maintenance to fabrication, new machine building, and problem-solving on the shop floor.


What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Preventive and reactive mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment


  • Operating and maintaining workshop machinery (lathe, milling, welding, fabrication)


  • New machine building and project-based fabrication work


  • Mechanical fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pipework installation


  • Supporting continuous improvement projects and TPM development


  • Assisting with building maintenance and tooling manufacture


  • Working as part of a small Engineering & Production team to achieve operational targets



✅ What We’re Looking For:


  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with proven hands-on experience


  • Strong mechanical background with skills across fabrication, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machining


  • Able to confidently use lathes, milling machines, and general workshop equipment


  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team


  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly to breakdowns


  • Computer literate with good communication skills


(Abrasive Wheels certification and experience mentoring apprentices would be an advantage.)
