Aqumen Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Hull for an experienced Tooling Technician to join their engineering team.

As a Tooling Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring moulds and tooling systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to support production performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on moulds and tooling equipment
• Diagnosing and resolving tooling faults to minimise downtime
• Supporting mould and die changeovers for production runs
• Conducting root cause analysis on tooling issues
• Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
• Supporting tooling trials for performance and durability testing
• Working with external suppliers for tooling repair and modification
• Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across tooling processes
• Supporting and guiding production teams on tooling best practice

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

• An apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, toolmaking, or manufacturing engineering
• HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (desirable)
• At least 3 years’ experience working with injection mould tooling
• Strong experience dismantling, cleaning, and rebuilding complex mould tools
• Knowledge of hot runner systems, hydraulic & pneumatic tooling components
• Experience working within a toolroom or machining environment
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tooling schematics
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail

• Competitive hourly rate of £19.85 (annual salary - £41288)
• Monday–Friday days role – no shifts
• 33 days total holiday (25 + 8 bank holidays)
