SEND (PMLD) Teaching Assistant- Northwood

If so, we are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a fantastic PMLD (profound and multiple learning disabilities) SEND school that meets the educational needs of children up to KS3.
The students have a range of severe learning disabilities including those who may be on wheelchais, nonverbal, some have nurses that are always with them, and number of students have seizures. This will be a full time role, from Monday to Friday.
Mon, Wed & Thur - 8:30am to 4:15pm
Tue - 8:30am to 4:30pm
Fri - 8:30am to 3:45pm
As a SEND Teaching and assistant you will need to be a confident and strong in supporting the children with complex needs and support them with their learning, development & personal growth.
You should have a strong background in working as a SEND Teaching Assistant within another special needs school or have experience as a care support worker/ support worker with young adults who can support pupils who are non-verbal

The Role:
Supporting children with complex & severe needs
As a Teaching Assistant you will contribute to creating a safe, supportive & engaging learning environment
Build a close bond with the child to ensure they feel comfortable both inside & outside the classroom
Communicate closely with colleagues to ensure the progress of students is prioritised as a Teaching Assistant
Work 1:1 with the child to ensure they achieve their developmental milestones
Requirements:
Available Immediately, Mon-Fri
Willing to support SEND children with complex needs as a Teaching Assistant
MUST have a CHILD ONLY DBS or willing to get one
Have experience with children in some capacity whereby you can provide a reference
Must be confident & strong as a Teaching assistant as the children have PMLD
Live local to Hillingdon or within a commutable distance

Location: Ealing
Full-time, 5 days per week
Salary: M1 Inner London £38,766 - UPS3 £60,092
Teach Plus are currently working with a large, vibrant, 4-form entry primary school located in Ealing, who are seeking a Nursery Class Teacher this January.
The school is an ‘Outstanding' primary school that is well supported by the parents and wider community.
Staff are dedicated to the quality of education and providing the highest standards of teaching and learning.
With a well-established senior leadership team, teachers feel well supported and are offered lots of opportunities for career professional development and further training.
The role is a full-time, ongoing position to start in January 2025.
As a Nursery Class Teacher you will be expected to:
Take on full classroom responsibilities for a Nursery Class, including planning, preparation, marking and assessments
Plan well-structured lessons in accordance with the EYFS National Curriculum
Maintain consistent relationships with parents surrounding their academic progression
Attend meetings and INSET days to further support the internal development of the school
The ideal candidate for the Nursery Class Teacher role will have:
Strong knowledge of the EYFS National Curriculum
Recent classroom teaching experience within a primary school setting
A strong work ethic who is willing to commit until the end of the academic year
UK recognized Teaching Qualification with QTS
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
Right to work in the UK

Build a strong, positive relationship, setting clear boundaries with the child
Follow plans for activities and intervention sessions provided by the class teacher
Support with learning and regulating behaviour using a range of strategies
Ensure the child feels supported and safe by having a warm and nurturing approach
The ideal candidate for the SEN Teaching Assistant role will have:
Have a passion for working with children with SEND
Have experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting with children with SEND in a school setting
Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant with children with ASD and challenging behaviour
The ability to build rapport with the child and be able to respond to the child's individual needs
Follow direction from the class teacher, SENCO and other members of staff
