Materials Controller

We have a fantastic position for a Materials Controller to join our client’s team in the Wallsend area.The position is for an immediate start and likely to be around an 8 month assignment. Possible permanent opportunities available.Working Monday to Thursday – 07:00 – 16:00hrs and Friday 07:00hrs – 15:30hrs (42 hours per week)As a material controller your duties will consist of the followingKey Responsibilities • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle/PI counts, update ERP/stock systems, and maintain data accuracy. • Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with procurement and suppliers for timely material replenishment and manage supplier performance. • Logistics & Distribution: Arrange transportation, manage warehouse organisation, and deliver materials to production/lineside locations. • Quality Control: Inspect incoming materials, report issues (shortages, quality), and ensure proper storage and handling. • Production Support: Ensure materials are available for scheduled projects, resolve material shortages (progress chasing), and support production planning. • Reporting & Improvement: Identify discrepancies, recommend solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement in material processes.Essential Skills & Qualifications • Skills: Strong organisational, time management, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and independently. • Knowledge: Inventory control methods, ERP systems, Microsoft Office. • Experience: Background in logistics, inventory, purchasing, or a related field. • FLT experience£19.50 per hour - For the first 38 hours worked and approved, depending on experience.£25.35 per hour – In excess of 38 hours worked and approved.£29.25 per hour – Saturday hours worked and approved.£39.00 per hour – Sunday and Bank Holiday hours worked and approved.If this is an opportunity not to be missed, Apply now!
