Key Responsibilities
Programming
Program sliding head CNC lathes using G-code and/or offline CAM software
Optimise programs to improve cycle times, tooling efficiency, and part quality
Edit and improve existing programs to resolve machining or quality issues
Setting & Operation
Set, prove out, and operate sliding head CNC machines (e.g.
Citizen, Tornos)
Select, prepare, and set cutting tools, guide bushes, and work-holding equipment
Produce components to engineering drawings and specifications
Monitor machine performance and adjust offsets as required
Quality & Inspection
Inspect components using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
Ensure all parts meet tolerance, quality, and surface finish requirements
Health, Safety & Compliance
Maintain high health and safety standards at all times
