This contract role involves splitting your time between HMP Leeds (three days per week) and HMP Wealstun, totalling 35 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities: As a Prison Support Worker, your primary role will be to provide comprehensive support to individuals within the prison system, helping them navigate their time in custody and preparing them for life after release.

Represent the Local Authority in mediation and appeals, including First Tier Tribunal (SEN and Disability).
Track progress and outcomes of commissioned provision for young people and ensure achievement of outcomes.
Liaise with non-educational agencies to secure necessary services and advise schools to effectively use SEND funding.
Ensure resources for SEND support and EHCPs are allocated, monitored, and reviewed, including guidance on personal budgets and outcome measures for reporting young people's progress.
Knowledge/Expereince required:
Extended experience in/with early years, school, college, Local Authority, health, independent setting in relation to children and young people with special educational needs and disability.
Successful experience of collaborative and partnership working with school staff and partner agencies.
Effective working with families or young people.
Effective multi agency working Statutory Assessment (SEND, Child Protection etc.).
Reviewing monitoring and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
Presenting evaluative reports to ley and professional audiences.
Working with and delivering support//careers guidance/advisory services to children /young people and their parents.
Effective up to date theory and practice in the field of special educational needs relating to areas of responsibility.
Understand relevant legal frameworks.
Awareness and understanding of the impact on parents/carers.
Qualifications:
Graduate level qualification in Education, Social Work, Health-related field or Psychology.

This role involves working a condensed week (37 hours per week across 4 weekdays).
The successful postholder will be expected to be office based from either the Colchester or Basildon office.
Exciting opportunities have arisen to join Essex County Council's (ECC) fast paced, dynamic and supportive dedicated Approved Mental Health Service (AMHP) Service.
Operating within ECC as a hub and spoke model, the AMHP Service is transforming, and posts have become available as we expand the core aspect of the daytime service.
The transformation of the service is from one centralised AMHP ‘hub' to two.
The Service takes referral 9-5 Monday to Friday and is supported by the Essex Emergency Duty Service outside of these times.
The Role
The Approved Mental Health Professional Service has a unique position in ensuring compliance with the statutory functions imposed upon the Local Authority by the Mental Health Act.
The service will be responsible for delivering the AMHP rota.
The service will undertake statutory assessments, triaging initial enquiries in line with statutory duties.
As a Senior Social Worker you will be passionate and experienced in demonstrating expert and effective practice in complex situations often in pressurised environments.
You will be able to manage workloads and support colleagues with complex cases, with an ability to mitigate high levels of risk.
You will work collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory/voluntary agencies ensuring a joined-up approach.
You will have significant experience of social work, modelling good practice, triaging mental health act referrals, prioritising responses, giving direction to others and providing expert advice and guidance.
