The Role
As Retail Assistant / Optical Consultant working for a thriving opticians business in Portishead you will work with staff and customers with the following duties:
booking patient appointments
helping patients to choose frames
contact lens sales and assistance
reception duties & general administration
supporting senior staff / optometrists
conducting customer tests, using specialist equipment

Our client is a thriving opticians practice working with updated equipment including OCTs, slit lamp cameras and dry eye clinic equipment.
Training and support is available to staff to expand their skillsets and venture into enhanced services.
The Person
As Optical Assistant / Consultant you may have previous experience in a retail, customer-facing or similar role, although training will be provided for the right person.
Most importantly you will be friendly and personable with good communication & organisation skills, you will have a customer focused approach.
This can be a full time or a part time role.
Working days are Monday to Friday with some Saturdays.

The role
Fugro are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to be based at our waterfront office at Portchester, Hampshire.
The department specialises in offshore geophysical seabed and sub-seabed surveying for the renewables, unexploded ordnance (UXO), nearshore and utilities sectors across north-west Europe.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems within the Geophysical Department.
The role will include mobilising and commissioning the systems onto survey vessels and supporting ongoing operations of the equipment.
Tasks will include managing LOLER and calibration schedules of equipment, keeping repair logs, troubleshooting, repair and maintaining geophysical equipment on site and in the workshop as well as travelling to vessels to install, maintain and repair equipment.
Supporting offshore staff remotely to assist with repairs.
Communicating with suppliers and test centres to organise spares, repairs and testing.
Managing associated administrative tasks.
Who we're looking for:
Essential
5+ GCSEs and 2+ A-levels or equivalent level qualification.
Mechanical and/or Electrical skills and knowledge.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills along with the ability to fault find, test, repair and interrogate geophysical systems.
Able to work flexible hours and to travel when required.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Good knowledge of English language, verbal and written.
Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
Desirable
Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic winch motors and motor control systems.
Working knowledge of, and ability to work to marine mechanical standards.
Able to design and modify mechanical and hydraulic systems, documents and schematics using CAD.
Be willing to go to sea for short durations.

The Engineer shall lead the management of change to functional safety systems and ECI systems in general.
The Engineer shall review and assess ECI operational needs and project manage the design of any modification or installation of such systems.
Updating the maintenance management system with results of EC&I and SIS planned maintenance and proof testing activities.
Undertaking Incident investigations related to ECI control matters.
Security - The Engineer shall ensure that SIFs are secured from un-authorised interference, i.e., password protection employed, system cabinets locked.
