As Workshop Technician you will be working within the Marine Site Characterisation Geophysical team in Aberdeen.
We design and carry out site surveys and investigations using our fleet of purpose-built survey vessels to support a wide range of projects, including offshore wind, oil & gas, and others
In this role, you will prepare, test, and maintain geophysical survey equipment, data acquisition, and data processing systems.

Responsibilities include:
To ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the company Integrated Management System and project-specific documentation

Assembly, maintain and testing of all company's geophysical equipment while onsite at company's onshore sites
Give accurate feedback to the Geophysical Operations Engineers or Manager on the status of equipment and any potential issues.
Carry out repairs, refurbishment and maintenance of geophysical equipment and complete all required documentation.
Identify and maintain minimum levels of spares and consumables to be kept in stock to carry onshore repairs via the Purchasing Department.
Liaise with Warehouse and Logistics, Asset & Repairs Controller and Workshop teams as and when required,
Undertake Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks prior to the commencement of works.
Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained at all times.
Continually seek the identification of new working methods and/ or technology and / or cost reductions to improve performance.
To identify your personal training needs, bring them to the attention of the department manager and to take full advantage of the training opportunities.

A client of mine who is a Large Housing Association and Property Maintenance Company are looking to Recruit an experienced Gas/Heating Engineer to join their Property Maintenance Team in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
Tasks to include:
Competently undertake servicing and repair works to the required legal standard as directed.
Carry out planned maintenance checks on systems and equipment.
Conversant with wiring central heating systems
Test controls and safety devices to make sure that they are working properly.
Find and repair gas leaks using computerised fault-finding equipment.
Replace or repair faulty or old gas system parts.
Install or repair heating system pipe work.
Give customers advice about gas safety and energy efficiency.
You will undertake works in accordance with current Gas Safety Regulations, H&S regulations, policies and procedures.
Liaising with both internal and external customers appropriately and promptly is key to the role to ensure those involved in your work are aware of progress.
Candidates must have relevant and up to date Gas Qualifications including:

As an Offshore Inspection Engineer you will be responsible for assisting onshore or offshore project preparation activities including online data recording systems, offline data editing and quality-control for structural and pipeline inspections.
While offshore you will be working closely with the team of Inspectors, Surveyors, Engineers, Data Processors and ROV personnel to ensure all inspection and survey equipment is working effectively and data is collected efficiently and accurately.

Who we're looking for:
You will have formal qualifications to a minimum of HND level in Engineering or IT.
Hold an in date CSWIP 3.4u or 3.3u preferably, however we are happy to discuss with candidates who hold a 3.0 and above who are keen to progress with the 3.4u. Previous Offshore experience working with ROVs as an Inspection Engineer and/or Coordinator in UKCS as well as MS Office experience.
You will ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of all ROV platform and vessel-based pipeline and structural inspections.
QC of Inspection data recording, quality control of real-time video data and ensuring that, where required, all data sheets are completed accurately.
Ensure anomalies identified during online and offline inspections are accurately recorded and reported to the Inspection Coordinator, Superintendent/OVM and Client in a timely manner determined by the magnitude of the finding and anomaly criteria.
Assist in project reporting and delivery in accordance with Fugro and client specifications and document control parameters; document any variations to the workscope or procedures and inform the Client Deliverables department.
Promote teamwork at the worksite among all associated parties and ensure good communication lines, especially during shift handovers.

Are you a skilled Building Services Design Engineer looking for a new challenge?
If you have 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, a passion for HVAC and energy-efficient systems, and are ready for your next challenge, this role could be perfect for you.
Working for this reputable building services practice based in West Kent, you would be travelling throughout Kent visiting clients and would be required to attend the office in Sevenoaks at times.
As the Building Services Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing mechanical systems for a variety of projects.
Your role will involve everything from conducting site surveys to collaborating with clients and design teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.
Your duties would include but not be limited to:
- Collaborate with clients and design teams to establish mechanical requirements
- Conduct site surveys to assess project needs and assist in pricing installation works
- Research and apply the latest engineering methods and technologies
- Document design processes and prepare technical reports
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful delivery
- Liaise with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers for project coherence
- Stay updated on industry advancements and design trends
- Present design proposals to clients and external teams
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 year's experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Strong knowledge of design principles and best practices
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience in designing HVAC, Air Source/Ground Source Heat Pumps, and related systems
